Trevoh Chalobah has enjoyed an impressive start to the 2021/21 season for a player who was never thought to break into the Chelsea first team. The tall defender is confident with the ball at his feet, has a good marking ability, and good passing. He can play as a center-back, right-back, or defensive midfielder.
Trevoh and his brother, Nathaniel a former Chelsea player were born in Sierra Leone. Trevoh will join Chelsea aged 8. He signed a professional contract in June 2016. He was a regular for the youth team as they won the FA Youth Cup and defended the UEFA Youth League title. He will make the bench in the FA Cup final as Chelsea won Manchester United in 2018.
Trevoh Chalobah spent the 2018/19 season at Ipswich Town where he featured regularly both as a center back or midfielder. His fine performances could not help Ipswich Town from relegation to League One.
The next season will see him move to Huddersfield, another Championship side, and signing a contract extension with Chelsea. He was a mainstay in the team for the season.
At the beginning of the 2020/21 season, Trevoh Chalobah moved to Lorient, who were newly promoted to the French top flight. He also proved his worth as he was a regular appearing 30 times for the French side.
Return to Chelsea
Thomas Tuchel decided against loaning Chalobah at the start of the new 2020/21 season. He started him in the UEFA Super Cup victory against Villareal. He will score on his first Premier League appearance against Crystal Palace, scoring from a long-range effort.
Chalobah has appeared for the England youth team, even captaining the under-16 and the under-17 team.
