He made his senior debut for Everton at the start of the 2011/12 season against Queens Park Rangers. He joined Sheffield Wednesday in 2012 and Leeds United in 2013 for a month loan.

Ross Barkley will return ahead of the 2013/14 season to Everton and establish himself in the team. He was impressive and was nominated for the PFA Young Player of the Year award. His goal was also voted for Everton’s goal of the season.

With his contract due to expire in 2018, Ross Barkley rejected a contract extension from Everton prompting Everton coach, Ronald Koeman to conclude he will be sold.

Chelsea

In January 2018, Chelsea will secure the signature of Ross Barkley in a £15 million. He put to pen a five-and-half year deal. The deal was controversial and required investigation by the police to clear Chelsea of any wrongdoings.

His debut season was hampered by injuries. It was in the 2018/19 season under Maurizio Sarri that he discovered his form and fitness. He featured alongside Kante and Jorginho in Chelsea’s midfield three. He was instrumental as Chelsea won the Europa League adding his FA Cup medal the previous season.

Under Frank Lampard, Ross Barkley played an important role albeit as a squad player as Chelsea reached the FA Cup final in the 2019/20 season. He was involved in an off-field incident appearing topless at a nightclub.

Barkley will move to Aston Villa on loan in September 2020 making 24 appearances as injuries interrupted his season.

Barkley was given his first international appearance in 2003 when England faced Moldova in a World Cup qualifier. He made the 2014 World Cup squad and 2016 Euros.
