Marcus Bettinelli is currently Chelsea’s third option between the sticks. The tall goalkeeper started his career at Fulham when he was 14 in July 2006. It will take him till 2010 when he was 18 to sign his professional contract.

Bettinelli will join Dartford in the Conference Premier in 2013 on a season loan to help him get valuable game time. At the end of his loan with Dartford, Marcus Bettinelli will move to the League Two outfit, Accrington Stanley in 2013. He spent six months there before returning to his parent club, Fulham in January 2014.

Marcus Bettinelli signed a contract that will keep him at Fulham till 2016 and signed a further extension that kept him at the club till 2020.  He was initially a backup to David Button as Fulham competed in the English Championship.

He will become a first-choice under coach Slaviša Jokanović in the 2017/18 season as Fulham finished third qualifying for the play-offs and winning Aston Villa to secure Premier League status.

Back in the top flight, Marcus Bettinelli lost his first-team status to Sergio Rico in the 2018/19 season. He will move to Middlesbrough, back in the Championship in 2020.

After the departure of Willy Caballero, Chelsea moved to sign out-of-contract Marcus Bettinelli to fill the void in a two-year deal. He will serve as an understudy to Edouard Mendy and  Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Bettinelli featured for England at the Under-21 stage. He made a single appearance. He was called to the senior squad in September 2018.
