Popularly called “Captain America”, Christian Pulisic is one of the most technically gifted forward and wingers in the Chelsea team rooster. Born in Hershey, Pennsylvania, he will sign for Borrusia Dortmund as a youth player in February 2015. He has initially trialed at Chelsea Cobham training ground in 2010.
Christian Pulisic hit 10 goals and provided 8 assists for the youth team and was promoted to the first team. Under Thomas Tuchel, the current Chelsea boss, he became a regular at Dortmund in the 2015/16 season. He became the youngest foreigner to score in German Bundesliga at 17 years, 212 days.
He won the DFB-Pokal with Dortmund in 2017, his only major trophy at the Signal Iduna Park. He scored 19 goals and provided 16 assists in 127 appearances for Dortmund despite injury-interrupted periods during his stay there.
Chelsea reached an agreement with Dortmund over his signature in January 2019. He will join the team in the summer on a five and half-year deal for a fee of €64 million.
Christian Pulisic has an impressive first season with Chelsea leading the team all the way to the FA Cup final, only to suffer an injury in the final. Chelsea will lose the final to Arsenal and severely missed his presence in the attack.
The arrival of his former coach at Dortmund, Thomas Tuchel coincided with his injury. He will return and become part of the Chelsea team that went all the way to win the Champions League final at Porto against Manchester City.
He has scored 18 goals and provided 14 assists for Chelsea in 79 appearances (as of September 2021)
Christian Pulisic is a fan favorite for the US Men National team. He was voted twice the Player of the Year both in 2017 and 2019. He has been voted the Best Young Player of the Tournament in the 2019 CONCACAF Gold Cup where he led the USA to a second-place finish. He has 16 goals in 40 appearances for the national team.
