Chelsea team news

Patently, Thomas Tuchel has said that “it is now very important the stadium supports the team” during tonight’s semi-final, and Lukaku’s route with the fans, with much expectation on him over the Blues destructive opponent. even without the Belgian star, Chelsea set an incredible pace against Liverpool on Sunday, N Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic popped up everywhere moving the team forward.

There was an immensely composed display from Thiago Silva in the defense and some great saves from Edou Mendy, who has already departed for the African Cup of Nations, with Kepa Arrizabalaga in contention to replace him until the AFCON ends. the Spaniard has made six appearances in all competitions this season. Naturally, Mendy’s temporary absence will elevate former Fulham man Marcus Bettinelli to the bench, especially with the luxury of five substitutes available.

This may mean Lukaku leading the line with Timo Werner, if he is back to full health, likely to see some action and rested players such as Jorginho participates. Trevoh Chalobah, injured against Liverpool, is out alongside the longer-term wounded wing-backs and Andreas Christensen remains a doubt for tonight’s game.

Chelsea academies, Harvey Vale and Lewis Hall, both midfielders are capable of playing at wing-back, they were on the bench against Liverpool on Sunday but the teenagers are more likely to start against our FA Cup fixture with Chesterfield next week.
