Denmark has booked a place in the 2022 World Cup finals in Qatar after a hard-fought 1-0 win over Austria at Parken Stadium in Copenhagen, Denmark.
By this feet, Denmark has become the second team in Europe to qualify for the World Cup, after Germany sealed their place on Monday.
A goalless first-half, Joachim Maehle will score the only goal in the second half to help Denmark book a place in the 2022 World Cup set to take place in Qatar.
Chelsea star, Andreas Christensen was involved. He formed a three-man center-back partnership with the team captain, Simon Kjaer, and Jannik Vestergaard. He has been an integral part of the team in the World Cup qualifying encounters.
He has played all but just one match in the 8 fixtures, a match against Moldova earlier in March this year.
Denmark is paired with Moldova, Austria, Scotland, Faroe Islands, and Israel in Group F of the UEFA World Cup qualifiers. They were in imperious form winning all the eight matches so far. They have scored 27 goals in the process, the highest tally in Europe.
Christensen has contributed to the process as Denmark is yet to concede a goal in the qualifying round. With two games to spare, Denmark has already qualified after opening a 7-point lead over second-placed Scotland.
England held by Hungary
Mason Mount, Reece James and Ben Chilwell, Chelsea England’s contingent were denied by Hungary at Wembley. Sallai put the Magyars ahead in the first half, only for John Stones to equalize 13 minutes later.
The match, which Chelsea’s Mason Mount played all the minutes ended in a 1-1 draw. Chilwell was an unused substitute as Luke Shaw took his place.
Poland who won earlier in the day against Albania are now three points behind England. England will have to wait till the middle of November when they meet Albania and the minnows San Marino.
