After a few weeks out with injury, Chelsea has announced the return of their midfielder. Ngolo Kante has been in the sideline for Chelsea since late September.
The last time he appeared for Chelsea was a starting role in the 1-0 loss to Manchester City at the Stamford Bridge on September. After a disappointing 60 minutes, he was subbed off for Kai Havertz.
Ngolo Kante contracted Covid-19 just before Chelsea met Juventus in the Champions League. Chelsea will go on to lose the game, 1- 0 in Juventus Stadium. It was a moment of blip in Chelsea form as they lost two straight games and put up below par performances.
He has now completed his 14 days self-isolation and will be undergoing individualised training and drills to regain his fitness at the Cobham training facility.
The isolation meant Ngolo Kante was not selected for international duty. Many Chelsea players such as Mason Mount, Antonio Rudiger, Kai Havertz, Timo Werner, Thiago Silva and Edouard Mendy are currently on international duty with their respective countries.
Ngolo Kante missed out as France came from two goals down to beat Belgium in the UEFA Nations League. France scored three goals within thirty minutes in the second half to break Belgium hearts with Mbappe, Benzema and Theo Hernandez on target.
They will face Spain in the final on Sunday at the Sans Siro Stadium, Milan.
Tuchel will be boosted by his return as Chelsea has looked more assured when he is present in the team. His all-action style of play and defensive ability gives Chelsea the dynamism they need in the midfield.
Kante is also one of the five Chelsea players who were selected by UEFA to contend for Ballon d’Or.
